For reliable scanning, we recommend a minimum print height of 8mm and high-contrast ink on light surfaces.
Each standard cartridge contains 8ml of ink, rated for approximately 300,000 characters at the default 2mm print height. In practical terms: a small logo (roughly 200 character equivalents) yields about 1,500 prints. A QR code at 10mm height uses approximately 500 characters per print, yielding roughly 600 prints. Replacement cartridges are $19.99 and install in seconds.
BrandJet performs best on porous and semi-porous materials: corrugated cardboard, kraft paper, uncoated cardstock, wood, raw fabric, and absorbent plastics. It does not print reliably on glossy, coated, or non-porous surfaces without preparation — the Pro Kit includes a primer spray pen for these applications.
Any image viewable on your smartphone can be printed — photos, illustrations, patterns, icons. The app provides basic cropping and scaling. For best results, simplify complex images to high-contrast versions before printing. Full-color photos are possible but work best at larger print heights (8mm+) on lighter-colored surfaces.
Standard cartridges produce water-resistant prints that withstand normal handling and brief moisture exposure. For full waterproofing — outdoor storage, refrigerated products, or items exposed to rain — use the waterproof ink cartridges included in the Pro Kit. These use a pigment-based formulation that bonds more aggressively to the surface.
